Second Release

I just released my second game, and I felt a lot more ambitious tackling this one.

Growing up, there was a game I really loved called Lost in Blue. So when it came time to start a new project, I wanted to take a shot at making my own island survival game—something that captured the spirit of what I enjoyed back then.

One thing that always bugged me in Lost in Blue was how tedious it was to access your items. You had to pause the game and navigate through a bunch of menus just to eat some food. For my game, I made it a point to streamline that process. I wanted it to feel quick and natural to use items from your inventory. By the end, I was pretty proud of how I handled item toggling and stacking—you don’t have to scroll through five coconuts just to find the one twig.

This was also my first time implementing saving and loading. As gamers, we kind of take that for granted, but wow—it’s a whole thing to build from scratch. Still, I got it working, and it taught me a lot.

I know this probably won’t be a widely played game, but if enough people check it out and enjoy it, I’d love to return to it and keep building. Who knows... what could be behind those boulders?
